Additional comments: We have treasured building our family through adoption and watching our children grow into the people they are becoming. It has been such a joy to witness the complexities and beauty that adoption brings. Our hearts have grown with so much love for our children but also for their birth parents, who are still a part of our lives. Our children are truly our biggest blessings, and we would love to share our love and our life with another child.
Dear Expectant Parent(s),
Hi! We are Adam and Tessa. We wanted to first thank you for considering adoption for your precious baby. We can’t pretend to know how difficult this time may be for you or understand all the emotions you are going through. We do, however, know that the choice you are considering shows your have tremendous love for your child. We are blessed to see this love personally, in our two children’s birth families with whom we have wonderful relationships.
A little bit about us… We were married in 2018 and have two children, Layla and Vince, who are both adopted. We found out in 2021 that we are unable to have biological children which was difficult to hear at the time but we truly feel it has made us uniquely grateful to parent our sweet children, entrusted to us by their birth families.
We live near both of our families and enjoy watching our children grow up surrounded by their love. Our home is in the countryside outside of a large city and we love spending time exploring our woods, gardening, and swinging from the big oak trees in the front lawn. One of Tessa’s favorite hobbies is picking our berries, apples, and pears with our kids and watching the juice run down their chin as they sneak part of our harvest. Adam likes the jellies, jams, and desserts that we make.
Our love of the outdoors also extends to our summer weekends. We own a cabin on a lake so we spend our summer days swimming, tubing, roasting s’mores and watching the sunset from our pontoon with our family and friends. Adam especially loves passing on his love for fishing to our kids. The excitement on their face when they get to drive the boat is priceless. We want you to know if you picked us to parent your child, we would love them with our entire hearts as we currently do our two children. That love right now looks like family pool outings, dance parties, piggy back rides, and reading books by flashlight in a living room fort. As our kids grow we look forward to good heart-to-heart conversations and cheering them on at their activities. We will provide all of our children with a good education, opportunities to pursue their interests and dreams, and most of all unconditional love and support.
We also want your child to know that she or he is blessed with more than just one set of parents- that they were placed for adoption ultimately because they were loved so much. We believe that you are an essential piece of your child’s identity and look forward to them getting to know you and for you to be a part of our lives if you are comfortable. We have truly enjoyed getting to know our children’s birth families and hold such a special place in our hearts for them.
Thank you for reading a bit about our lives! We will be thinking about you as you navigate this time for you and your child.
