Where we live: We in a rural area on over 100 acres of land less than a mile from Dan’s parents and is only 10 minutes away from the nearest town. It is peaceful and full of beautiful nature including forest, grass fields, a private lake, ponds, etc. We enjoy watching wildlife, gardening, and are looking forward to building a new barn. We are walking distance from county trails, but also have trails of our own we’ve used for hiking, walking, sledding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Ethnicity: Dan is of English and German decent. Erin is of English, German, and Scottish decent. Health: Both Dan and Erin are in good health.
Child care plan: Erin is currently a teacher, but she plans to stay home after the adoption to nurture a strong bond and focus on the child’s emotional well-being. We are committed to being attentive to the child’s evolving needs and will thoughtfully reevaluate our approach as needed to ensure the best support for both the child and our family as a whole.
School Preference: We live in a community with a wide range of educational options, including public, private, and faith-based schools. With Erin’s background as a teacher, homeschooling is also something we’re open to considering. We plan to make a final decision once our child reaches school age and we have a clearer understanding of their unique needs. That said, Erin’s passion for teaching means that learning and developmental opportunities will begin early, no matter the path we choose.
Hobbies/Interests: Dan enjoys spending time with family, staying active through exercise, camping, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also finds fulfillment in tackling home projects, engaging in land management and preservation, and helping others whenever he can.
Erin enjoys spending time with my family, staying active through exercise, and appreciating nature by watching wildlife. She also loves playing games, camping, cooking and baking, teaching, and spending time with animals.
Pets: We do not currently have pets in the home, but have plans for dogs in the next 1-2 years. Outside of the home, we have guinea fowls and goats!
Additional Comments: Family is at the heart of our lives, and we would be honored to grow our family through adoption. Both we and our extended families have so much love to give and are eager to welcome a new little one into our hearts and home.
Dear Expectant Parent(s),
First, thank you so much for choosing life for your child. We can only imagine how difficult this time must be for you, and we want you to know how deeply we admire your strength, courage, and love for your child. The decisions you are making show such unselfishness and devotion. We cannot pretend to know exactly what you are going through, but please know that we hold you in the highest respect and are praying for you as you navigate these choices.
We always knew that we wanted to have a family together. When we got married, we dreamed of children being at the very heart of our life. Though our journey has included infertility, it has also brought us to adoption, which we see as a beautiful way to grow our family. We are truly excited and thankful to build our family in this way. Adoption has been on our hearts for years-even before infertility was part of our story-and we believe it is an incredible gift.
Our dream is to give a child a home overflowing with love, laughter, and faith. We can't wait to share family vacations, bedtime stories, backyard adventures, and quiet moments of prayer together. We want to offer stability, warmth, and a deep sense of belonging. One of the things that made our own childhoods special was being surrounded by close friends and family-our hope is to give that same foundation to a child. If you choose us to parent your child, we promise to always love your child unconditionally and to honor the incredible gift you would be entrusting to us. We will always speak of your love for your child with respect and gratitude. We will share their adoption story with openness and honesty, making sure they know it began with your brave, loving choice. We are open to exploring what openness might look like, if that is something you desire, and we are committed to making sure your child knows where they came from and how deeply they are loved.
Thank you again for taking the time to read our letter. We are humbled by your consideration and would be honored to have the chance to meet you. We will be praying for you as you make these difficult decisions, asking God to guide you with peace and wisdom. May He bless you and keep you always.
