Children already in the home: Eliana is a biological daughter who is 11 years old. She is very active in sports and loves playing basketball and softball with her friends. She is currently attending public school. She is artistic, kind, hard-working, and loves playing with her cousins.
Occupations: Kyle is in a leadership role at a financial lending institution and also runs his own lake services company. Stacie has taught preschool in both an education center as well as a public school.
Education: Kyle has a B.S. degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management and Finance from a public college. Along with his major, he has a minor in both Environmental Studies and Computer Information Systems. Kyle is also a registered Emergency Medical Technician. Stacie has a B.S. degree from the same public college, with a major in Education, specializing in birth through 3rd grade.
Where we live: We live in the country on 5 acres in a house built in 1997 with recent updates. Our home sits just outside of a small rural town with a close-knit community and local educational opportunities. We are within a 4-minute drive of numerous friends and family and within walking distance of a public lake.
Ethnicity: Kyle - Scandinavian/English; Stacie – English/German
Religious affiliation/practice: We are members of a Presbyterian church, but attend a number of different local churches in the area. We are very involved in a monthly community worship service and help lead a Christian fellowship group with students at a local school. Our faith is the focal point of our lives, and we want our children to understand the love of God for each one of them and eternal salvation through Jesus Christ.
Health: Good health for all.
Child care plan: Stacie and Kyle plan to take sequential leave from work to stay home for over 4 months. As a teacher, Stacie also gets the Summer months off to stay at home. We will evaluate whether Stacie will stay home long-term or whether she will go back to teaching. If we need child care during the school year, it will be at an at-home daycare that our sister-in-law runs close by
School Preference: We live in a community that offers excellent educational opportunities. Currently, we are considering our local public school with continual educational activities at home.
