Sommer & Adam

PLACEMENT!
Married: 2020

Children already in the home: Asher is our biological son who joined our family in October of 2023. He is a very busy little boy who loves exploring, animals, and reading books! He is very joyful, goofy, and sociable. His smile and belly laugh can light up any room he is in!

Occupations: Adam works full time as lead welder and machinist for a railroad company. He has an associate’s degree and welding certifications. Sommer works part time at a pregnancy resource center where she counsels women who need support and resources for their pregnancy. On her days off she spends time with their son.

Education: Adam has an associate's degree and welding certifications. Sommer has a bachelor's degree in social work.

Where we live: We live in an older neighborhood full of trees and wildlife in town. Our home was built in 1988, with a park just a few houses up the street. We are also located close to schools, shopping, and restaurants. We love going for walks and admiring the beautiful scenery in our neighborhood.

Ethnicity: Adam – German and Russian; Sommer – Norwegian, English, German, Native American

Religious affiliation/practice: We are actively involved in an Assemblies of God church and a weekly bible study.

Health: We are all in good health.

Child care plan: Sommer works 3 days a week currently, she spends time with their son, Asher, on her days off. Sommer hopes to stay home full time with the children once they have more than one child. Sommer loves being involved in the community and is often taking Asher to play group, indoor play grounds, the science center, parks, and the zoo.

School Preference: We live in a community with a wide range of education options. We desire for our children to go to a private Christian school or be home schooled. We want to support our children the best we can and adapt to their learning needs, so we are flexible on what type of education would be the best fit for them to thrive.

Hobbies/Interests:
Being with family                                                         Gardening
Working on building projects                                    Painting

Additional Comments: We are so full of anticipation and excitement to grow our family and follow God’s call to adoption, we know His plan is perfect and we so look forward to adding a child, and their family to our family.

Dear Expectant Parent(s),

We have been thinking of you often as you are walking through this extremely difficult time and can only imagine the heartache you are feeling. We have been praying that you are able to find the support and guidance you need to make the best decision for your family. There is not a day that goes by that we have not thought about you and prayed over you as you walk through this difficult time.

We had always talked about adopting children, even when we were young and dating. It was on both of our hearts and we knew that we wanted to love and care for children who needed a loving home. We really felt the call to pursue adoption in 2023 after having our son, Asher. It became very apparent to us that we needed to shift our plans and not pursue biological children at this time, after having a very dangerous pregnancy experience and Asher needing medical interventions. It was not how we imagined the birth of our son to go. This experience made it clear to us that we needed to slow down and surrender the size and timing of our future family to the Lord. It took a lot of prayer, along with God placing random strangers into our lives speaking to us about the miracle of adoption. This provided so much clarity that the Lord had plans for our family that we could not even comprehend.

Our family values tradition and celebrating holidays with our families. We can envision your little one sitting around the Christmas tree surrounded by love, embraced and being a part of our family. Playing alongside cousins and being loved by aunts and uncles who adore them. Our family loves to spend quality time together, and we are so looking forward to adding another child. We can confidentially say that we know there are endless snuggles, laughter, and dance parties for this little one to join.

If you entrust us with your child, we promise to kiss all of their owies, celebrate their passions, and love them for who God created them to be. We promise to love them unconditionally, even if we do not share the same DNA. We believe that every child is the Lord’s child first, and we are entrusted with their life. We will share their story with them, and honor the love and sacrifices you made for them, because their life has value.

Thank you for taking the time to look for the perfect fit for your child. If you choose our family, we hope to get to know you personally. We will continue to pray for you every step of the way. We know this is one of the hardest things you have ever done, and that you abundantly love your child. Know that there is always room for you and your child in our family.

With love,

Adam & Sommer
