Dear Expectant Parent(s),

Before we get too far into this letter, we want to take a second to acknowledge how incredibly loved and important you and your child are. God made no mistake bringing you to where you are today, and He is walking with you every step of the way. Although we cannot begin to imagine the difficult decision you find yourself facing, we know one thing is for sure, and that is that you have so much love for your baby and it is clear you want them to have a wonderful and healthy life. No matter the outcome, we want you to feel empowered and brave, and to be absolutely confident in your choice. Most importantly we pray that you would feel peace and comfort in this time, and that you would trust that God is with you always.

When we got married in 2016, we knew we would want to start a family. Adoption was always on our hearts, but we planned to grow our family on our own before we pursued that, but like most times in life, God was leading us down a different path. In 2021 we began trying to conceive, but after 5 years we still had not gotten pregnant. After much time in prayer and patiently waiting for God’s timing, we began to see our plan changing. Though this isn't the way we had first planned, God has changed our hearts and we are excited at the thought of adopting our first child, we trust that the Lord knew what He was doing the whole time, and we know that any child that comes into our home will be so loved.

When we think about our future as parents, we can imagine so many years of love and laughter. Family road trips to see our extended family, camping trips with our closest friends, sunset walks around the neighborhood, watching the kids play with the dogs in the yard. We can imagine spending every precious holiday coming up with new traditions and finding the littlest ways to show love to one another. What a blessing it would be to raise a child to love the Lord as our parents did with us. This child would be surrounded and cared for by other Christians that love and serve God as well. Emma would make a wonderful mom because she is caring, silly, and has always had a deep love for children. Wes would make a great dad because he has a natural love for teaching and leading. He is honest, and always ready to help those in need.

If you were to choose us to parent your child, please know that they would be so loved and cared for. We want you to know that we are open to having a relationship with you in a way that makes you feel comfortable. We desire to remain open in communication so that your child can grow up knowing they are blessed with more than one set of parents and that this decision was made from love and a desire to give them the best future that you could.

We are so grateful that you are taking the time to read our letter. We pray that no matter what you choose, the Lord gives you the peace and comfort you need to be confident in your decision and that you would know that there are so many people praying over you and your sweet baby. We understand that this decision is not one that can be made lightly, but we do hope that one day we will get the chance to meet you.

Sincerely,
Wesley & Emma
