Bryce & Abby

Married: 2011

Occupations:  Bryce works as a residential fence coordinator for a fencing company. Abby is a math teacher at a local high school.

Education:  Bryce has a B.S. in Business Management and Marketing from a 4-year university. Abby has a B.S. in Education with a major in Mathematics and a minor in coaching from a 4-year university.

Children already in the home:  Jenalu was born in 2015 and was adopted as an infant.

Where we live:  We live in a newly developed neighborhood in a smaller urban city. There are several different cultures prevalent where we live. It is a great community. We live about 1 block from a park and are located in an area of town with several families with small children.  We only live 4 blocks from a great elementary school.

Ethnicity: Bryce – German/Irish; Abby – Scandinavian/German/Irish

Religious affiliation/practice:  We attend an Assembly of God Church. Abby volunteers in the church nursery during one of the Sunday services at least once a month. We are avid Bible readers. We pray daily for the needs of those around us and for the health and safety of our family and friends. Our faith is the most important aspect of our lives. We fully rely on it when things get tough. We are raising our daughter to know the love of Christ, and we are trying to teach her how to show those around her that same love through her words and actions.

Overall health:  We are all very healthy.

Child care plan:  Abby plans on taking time off of work for the first few months after a child is placed with us. Abby’s parents live in the same town as us, and they help out a lot, too. Abby has summers off because she is a teacher, so she is able to stay home with the kids during that time.
Once school starts, we will use a daycare service until the child is old enough to attend preschool. Our daughter has started kindergarten at our local public school.

School preference:  The community we live in has a very healthy educational system, beginning with the elementary schools. Abby teaches in the public school system we live in, so we will be choosing the public school system for our children as well.

Hobbies/Interests:  Bryce enjoys hanging out with the family, hunting, fishing, playing board games, spikeball, pickleball, tennis, racquetball, kickball, basketball, softball, working out, watching movies, playing with his daughter and the dog, reading the Bible, and traveling. Abby enjoys hanging out with the family, hunting, camping, hiking, softball, kickball, curling, spikeball, pickleball, tennis, snow skiing, kayaking, working out, reading the Bible, watching movies, playing with her daughter, and camping.

Pets:  One black lab dog. She is incredibly loving. She follows us all around the house and everywhere we go. She is great with our daughter, who loves her, too!

Dear Expectant Parent(s),

We would like to thank you so much for this opportunity to get to know us. When we discovered we would never be able to have biological children, we prayed for God to instead lead us down His chosen path. We soon realized that God had a different plan in mind for us. Making the decision to fully trust Him and follow His path was the best decision we ever made, as it gave us the most incredible gift of being joined with our beautiful daughter through adoption. And now, we feel Him calling us again.

We will never pretend that we know how you are feeling. Even though we still deal with the incredible hurt of never being able to have biological children, our pain is different than yours, and we cannot even begin to imagine the way you feel. We have, however, learned to trust God and accept His will for our lives. We want you to know that we truly believe we are so blessed to have this opportunity to be able to continue to expand our family in this incredible way, and we look forward to finally being able to give our daughter a brother or sister to love and play with.

We will be continuing to pray for you and your child as you enter into this difficult decision. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for choosing life, through an adoption plan for your child. And thank you for taking the time to consider us as part of that plan.

Sincerely,
Bryce and Abby
Return to Waiting Families
"For many years now, we have wanted nothing more than to give our daughter a little brother or sister to play with and love. She is so excited to become a big sister! We are very excited to be able to have the opportunity to continue to expand our family through adoption. We have a remarkable extended family that would be ecstatic to welcome another little one into our home with us. We would all feel honored to have one more join our beautiful and loving family."
