Occupations: Matt is self-employed and owns multiple properties and restaurants. Kate is an Operations Director for a healthcare company.
Education: Matt has a B.S. in Marketing and Economics and a Master’s in Business Administration. Kate has a B.S in Business and a Master’s in Business Administration and Healthcare.
Where we live: We live in an amazing community with cultural and family activities happening every week. Our home is in a quiet neighborhood with lots of young families nearby. We are across the street from a large park and within walking distance from great schools and our church.
Ethnicity: Matt – Norwegian; Kate – Irish, French; Genevieve – Norwegian, German, Japanese, Native American
Religious affiliation: We are Catholic and attend church on a regular basis.
Health: We are all in great health.
Child care plan: We both have very flexible work schedules, as Matt owns his businesses and Kate works from a home office. Kate plans to take 6 months off work and has the option to go back to work part-time. We plan to have a nanny until our child is 18 months and will then transition to the learning center that Genevieve attends.
School preference: We live in a community with many excellent private and public school options. Matt went to private school as a child and Kate to public school, and we both had a great experience. We plan to make the decision based on what school is the best fit for our children.
Hobbies/Interests: We love spending time with family and friends, walking our dog, Bailey, riding our bikes, playing in the park, going to the lake, and traveling together. Matt enjoys anything outdoors: running, golfing, hockey, tennis, fishing and hunting. Kate enjoys cooking, yoga, volleyball and reading a good book. Genevieve enjoys singing and dancing, playing with her toy animals, running around the house and yard with Bailey, reading books and playing with her cousins and neighborhood friends.
Pets: Our dog Bailey, a 3 year old Wirehaired Pointer
Additional Comments: We are so excited to grow our family through adoption again! We, along with our families and friends, have a lot of love to share and can’t wait to welcome another child into our home!

Dear Expectant Parent(s),
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about us! We are so humbled by your strength and want you to know we deeply admire the choice you made to give your child life. We can’t imagine what you might be going through but it’s our prayer that you have all the strength, courage and support to choose what is best for you and your child.
We have always known our family would grow through adoption. A few years after we were married, we tried to get pregnant but were unsuccessful. We chose adoption and were blessed to bring our daughter Genevieve home a year later in 2017. We feel so privileged that her birth mom and dad chose us. We have loved every moment of being her parents and have so much love and respect for her birth parents. It is our desire to adopt again and we cannot wait to meet our next child. Genevieve will make the most amazing big sister and she is so excited to have a baby sister or brother one day.
Our family loves to have fun and our home is filled with laughter. We enjoy playing in the backyard, going to the park, singing songs, having dance parties, reading Genevieve our favorite childhood stories, having family game nights with plenty of pizza, spending weekends at our lake home, going on family vacations and spending time supporting Genevieve in all her activities.
Should you choose us, we promise to raise your child to be proud of who they are and where they came from. You will always be an integral part of his or her life and we will raise our child with an understanding and appreciation for you and the sacrifice you are making for him or her. Your child will be loved beyond words by us, by our families, and by our friends and he or she will always know the great love you have for him or her.
We will never be able to fully understand this difficult decision you are making, but we are honored you are considering us as parents for your child. We hope to someday meet you so we can learn more about you and share even more of who we are and the love we have to give. We know that you want the absolute best for your child and we pray that you will find that in us.
Sincerely,
Matt and Kate
