Children already in the home: We have biological twin girls, Audra & Nellie who were born in 2019.
Occupations: Nick is a high school math teacher and coach. Rachel works as an executive pastor at our church.
Education: Nick has a B.A.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education and a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning. Rachel has a B.S. in Youth Development with her pastoral credentials.
Where we live: We live in a small, friendly, close knit community with great schools and are relatively close to both of our families as well. Our house is tucked in between the woods and field with a couple neighbors close by. We enjoy our quiet neighborhood that is within walking distances to parks, and both of our jobs.
Ethnicity: Nick - Bohemian/German; Rachel – Austrian/Scandinavian
Religious affiliation/practice: We attend the Assembly of God church that Rachel also is one of the pastors of. Our church community is like family to us. We have hosted different small groups at our home for the last 5 years and enjoy getting to host and know so many through these. Our church is growing and full of life and young families. Families are the passion and heartbeat of our church and they do a great job making kids feel like a priority. Faith is the foundation of who we are, and we love having a church community that helps us grow in that.
Health: We are so grateful that we all are in good health.
Child care plan: Rachel is able to be home with our little ladies most days, two days a week they get to go to a family friend daycare. We also have an incredible framily (friends & family) that help out whenever we need.
School preference: Our community has excellent public & private school options. Nick is employed at the local public high school. We plan to make a decision based on what is best for our kiddos when they are school aged.
Hobbies/Interests: All things fun: family time, going on trips, water parks and splash pads, spending time with good friends, dancing in the kitchen, working out, jogging, hiking, biking, playing in the yard, cooking for others, reading, blasting worship music and eating ice cream.
Pets: Not yet. We hope to get a puppy someday, but not soon!
Dear Expectant Parent(s),
Our names are Nick & Rachel. Thank you for taking a moment to get to know a little bit about us. Please know we've been thinking of you and praying for you as we write this. We don't know your story, but someday we hope to.
This is a prayer that hangs in our girls room that we pray over them often and for you right now. "Our heart for her is that she will learn that her journey is where she will become strong. Her strength is from God not from within herself. That she stands when no one else does. That she speaks for those who cannot. That she be the light when everything else is dark. That she have eyes to see the lovely in the unlovely, for that is so often where we see God. That she lives loved...because she knows she is loved by God. That she hears His song over her each and every day. And that she is able to forgive because she knows the depth of her forgiveness." If you choose us to parent your sweet baby and invite us into your journey, we would make this promise to you: we will love them unconditionally and they will always know about your incredible love for them. We are open to loving not just your baby but you. Our hope is to know your story and be a part of it someday.
"We have hopeful anticipation for the little one that God will add to our family. We are so grateful for the support system of friends and family around us that will shower love on this sweet child as well!"
