Children already in the home: We have biological twin girls, Audra & Nellie who are almost 2 years old.
Occupations: Nick is a high school math teacher and coach. Rachel works as an executive pastor at our church.
Education: Nick has a B.A.S. in Secondary Mathematics Education and a master’s degree in Teaching and Learning. Rachel has a B.S. in Youth Development with her pastoral credentials.
Where we live: We live in a small, friendly, close knit community with great schools and are relatively close to both of our families as well. Our house is tucked in between the woods and field with a couple neighbors close by. We enjoy our quiet neighborhood that is within walking distances to parks, and both of our jobs.
Ethnicity: Nick - Bohemian/German; Rachel – Austrian/Scandinavian
Religious affiliation/practice: We attend the Assembly of God church that Rachel also is one of the pastors of. Our church community is like family to us. We have hosted different small groups at our home for the last 5 years and enjoy getting to host and know so many through these. Our church is growing and full of life and young families. Families are the passion and heartbeat of our church and they do a great job making kids feel like a priority. Faith is the foundation of who we are, and we love having a church community that helps us grow in that.
Health: We are so grateful that we all are in good health.
Child care plan: Our girls go to a family friend in-home daycare 3 blocks away from our home. We love our daycare provider and are so confident that she loves our sweet little ladies so well. Our plan is to continue to utilize her.
School preference: Our community has excellent public & private school options. Nick is employed at the local public high school. We plan to make a decision based on what is best for our kiddos when they are school aged.
Hobbies/Interests: All things fun: family time, going on trips, water parks and splash pads, spending time with good friends, dancing in the kitchen, working out, jogging, hiking, biking, playing in the yard, cooking for others, reading, blasting worship music and eating ice cream.
Pets: Not yet. We hope to get a puppy someday, but not soon!
Dear Expectant Parent(s),
Our names are Nick & Rachel. Thank you for taking a moment to get to know a little bit about us. We cannot imagine the circumstances you are walking through right now. We are so proud of you for choosing life for your baby. You have our highest respect and admiration.
Seven years ago, we were working as a teacher (Nick) and youth pastor (Rachel). Our stealthy high school students plotted and decided they should introduce us to one another. We started going on coffee dates and fell in love. We both knew we wanted to build a family and have been open to any avenue a baby may come into our home. Nick had a dream one night that he, Rachel, and two kids were all hanging out in the bed together. There was so much smiling, laughter, and love together as a family. He knew that these kids were theirs through adoption. This was a huge confirmation to both of us. This led us to start our adoption journey, however we unexpectedly found ourselves pregnant with our twins and decided to put our adoption dream on a temporary pause. We know at this time God is leading us to continue growing our family through adoption.
We have felt divinely created to love and serve others. If you choose us to parent your child, we would make this promise to you: we will love them unconditionally and always tell them about your incredible love for them.
"We have hopeful anticipation for the little one that God will add to our family. We are so grateful for the support system of friends and family around us that will shower love on this sweet child as well!"
