Russell & Cindy

Married: 2010

Children already in the home: Reece is our adopted son who was born in 2015. He is active and bright, eager to learn and help, loves to read and sing, play at the park or playground, play with trains and hot wheels, work puzzles, build Legos and play games. He loves attending Awana and Sunday School and is looking forward to starting kindergarten. He loves to play with his best friend, Ethan, and gets along well with most children. He is very affectionate and generally good natured. He is super excited about being a big brother!

Occupations: Russell works for a large IT company as a technical advisor. Cindy worked in full time nursing for several years. She taught general music, choir, band, and private lessons in a private school for several years. She went on to obtain education in medical coding and is now a work-from-home mom as well as serving her church as a faith community nurse.

Education: Russell has a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems from a university, and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a major in Bible and a minor in music from a college. Cindy has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a university and has a Bachelor of Arts in church music with a minor in piano performance from a college.

Where we live: We live on the outskirts of a moderate sized town in a nice neighborhood. We live in a nicely maintained townhouse and plan to purchase our own home within the next couple of years. Our town has a great library, and lots of cultural and educational opportunities. We are within walking distance of a neighborhood park that we visit often. There are lots of restaurants, shops and things to do nearby.

Ethnicity: Russell – Polish/English/Miami Indian/French/German/Irish; Cindy – English/Cherokee Indian/German/French/Scottish

Religious affiliation/practice: We attend a United Methodist Church and are very involved with the choir and in small group Bible studies and Sunday school. Our faith is at the center of our lives, and we want our children to understand the love of God for each of them. We want to instill Christian principles in them, leading them by example.

Health: Good health for all.

Child care plan: Cindy stays home with Reece and plans to stay home with our next child as well. We trade babysitting nights with our friends in order to have occasional dates.

School preference:  We are planning to send our children to a private Christian school nearby that comes highly recommended by friends.

Hobbies/Interests:
Reading                                       Ham Radio
Playing trombone                     Time with family
Playing Piano & Organ             Bible study with friends at church

Dear Expectant Parent(s),

Hello! We are Russell and Cindy.  We want to thank you for choosing to give the gift of life to your child. Every life is precious, and we believe that God has a special plan for both you and your child. We cannot truly understand what you are going through, but we know that you are making an incredibly difficult and selfless choice. It takes great courage and strength to make an adoption plan for your baby. We admire and respect that so much. We know that it is a decision born out of love for your child.

Even before we were married in 2010, we knew that we wanted to have a family. A year later, Cindy was diagnosed with severe endometriosis. After a major operation to correct it and a subsequent unsuccessful fertility treatment, we felt that God was leading us towards adoption. Our wonderful son Reece came to us through adoption in December 2015. He is such a treasure and we feel so blessed to be his parents! He very much wants to be a big brother and he will be a good one! We are all excited to be adding a precious child to our family!

We are a close family and have a lot of love to offer a child. We enjoy doing things together like going to parks and playgrounds, taking trips to the zoo, going sledding, playing games, shopping, going out to eat, attending various church activities, and getting together with friends. We especially enjoy family vacations! Our favorite highlight was a trip to the Scottish Highlands in 2017, though we did not meet the Loch Ness Monster!  More recently, we traveled via Amtrak and enjoyed it immensely. Russell is a fantastic dad and Reece is his little shadow! He wants to be just like his dad when he grows up. Russell is a patient teacher and allows Reece to be his helper, and they spend lots of fun times playing together as well. Cindy enjoys taking Reece on special outings and is teaching him some preschool things. Reece enjoys learning new things and is currently taking piano lessons and swim lessons. He is also learning some Spanish by using Rosetta Stone with Mommy.  Reece recently gave his heart to Jesus at Vacation Bible School, such a sweet moment! We both love to read to him, and he has learned to love books. We encourage his unique interests and try to expose him to a variety of experiences. We encourage him to do his best and be responsible. We look forward to nurturing and loving another child.

If you choose us to parent your child, we promise that we will love and protect your child. We will dedicate our lives to helping him or her become the very best person that they can be. We will tell him or her how much you love them and will speak of you with honor. We are open to a relationship with you if that is something that you desire.

Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and learn a bit about us. We hope to have the honor of meeting you! You will be in our prayers during these challenging days. May God bless you!

Sincerely,

Russell & Cindy
Return to Waiting Families
"We love our little family so much and are very much looking forward to adding another little person into the mix through adoption. Though we are a distance from our extended families, we remain in close communication via Facetime and try to visit a couple of times per year. We have developed some close friends in the area, and we count them as extended family. We are looking forward to watching God’s plan continue to unfold for our lives!"
