Occupations: Nate is a pastor at a local church. He has been in this position for 8 years. Kylie works at the same local church.
Education: Nate has two B.A. degrees from a small private college and an M.A. in Theological Studies. Kylie graduated with an A.A. from the same college, with a focus in church leadership.
Where we live: We live in an older neighborhood in a house built in 1937, located in a suburban area. We are within walking distance of multiple parks, schools, and the city’s downtown area.
Religious affiliation/practice: The church we are on staff at is a large charismatic church with a great kids ministry. Our faith and pastoral ministry are very much a part of our lives, and we want our children to understand the importance of loving God and His church.
Health: Good health for both of us.
Child care plan: Kylie works part-time so we are deciding between a few different options for part-time childcare. We have a handful of options that we are considering. Ranging from relatives to in-home childcare. We are not worried, just looking for the best option for our family.
School Preference: We live in a community that offers excellent educational opportunities, and we plan to consider a variety of options including public or private school or engaging in our local homeschooling community.
Hobbies/Interests: Nate: Being with family/friends, pickleball, reading, traveling, and gaming. Kylie: Being with family, reading with my book club, traveling, and cooking.
Pets: Our rescue dog, Pippa.
Additional Comments: Adoption has taught us an aspect of God’s love. Everyone involved has sensed the call to love. We admire your selflessness to consider adoption. Know that we are honored to be considered to parent your child. We are excited to expand our family and create new memories! Thank you for taking the time to read about our family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Hi friend,
As we've been going through this process and working through our adoptive parent tasks, we can't help but think about you. Maybe when we applied to be adoptive parents, you were finding out you were expecting. Perhaps you were at a doctor's appointment when we were in an orientation class. Maybe you were processing this big decision when we were doing our home study. We've been thinking of and praying for you this whole time.
We know that your decision is weighty and that you may be having many mixed emotions. We also know that we cannot fully understand what you are going through. Know that we do not pressure you. We also want what is best for your child. If you do choose to move forward with our family, know that your child will never lack love!
We are thrilled and honored to become parents. We have been together for almost ten years and have been talking about parenting together the whole time. Within that time, we have felt the call to adopt. We often find ourselves daydreaming about what we will be like as parents and how excited we are for bedtime routines, family Christmases, cheering on kiddos at sporting events, and just the everyday life of raising children. We have so much hopeful anticipation of God's goodness in this upcoming season! Our family right now is the two of us and our spoiled rescue dog, Pippa. Our family is passionate about finding fun in everyday life! We love to have family meals, take walks, and travel together. We have a great community of young families we love spending time with. Together, we all have game nights, spend time outdoors playing pickleball, and take advantage of our area's recreational activities. We are excited to add a child into this community of young families, knowing they will have many friends and cousins to grow up with.
Thank you for taking the time to get a glimpse into our lives! We are so thrilled to enter this next season. We are praying for you and your child and believe God has his hand on you!
